I like this little (5”x7”) booklet with it’s colored pictures and simple step-by-step instructions. It focuses on noses and hair and Harold pictures (his hands and tools) shows him using a fixed handled knife and about about four palm chisels, if you want to use them. All are identified by size.Amazon also offers other books in this Whittling & Carving Tips series titled: Basic Ear, Eyes and Lips, Santa Faces (with a great beard!), Wood Spirit, a Cowboy, Female Face, Native American Chief, Ugly Faces (see the booklet’s cover) and a Witch (Holiday Charactures). All are from Fox Chapel Publishing. I own five of them and will be picking up the others.
Please note that the booklet covers say there are companion study sticks. From what I have read there are the “original” and “new” (2011 remakes?) but I do not know if there are any differences. I have not seen them on Amazon yet, and I am hoping someone will be offering them soon.

This book is well worth the price. It is good to see a still shot of the actual cut.
I keep this on my workbench with Harold's other books as a reference for facial features. Clear step-by-step instructions in a small package. I wish he would do a wall chart so I could put the whole series in plain view but this works well for me.
